Hi there, challenge participants! I just wanted to dash off a quick post to let you know that we are changing venues. I have created a new community reading site which will be the home of all my long term and perpetual reading challenges (and any other reading challenges I might dream up).
The new site is called Gather Together and Read. You will find all challenge info pertaining to The Never-Ending Anne Rice Challenge in the page dedicated to the challenge…found in the sidebar menu.
While you’re there, check out the new perpetual reading challenge I just kicked off, 13 Ways of Looking at The Lifetime Reading Plan. I hope you will consider joining me for that as well.
If you have any questions about the new site, click the contact me button in the sidebar over at the new site and send me a message.
Thank you for being a participant of The Never-Ending Anne Rice Challenge!
So, I got seriously behind on this read-a-long so I’m extending it into October. Since October is Halloween season, it will fit right in. If you’re reading along, I hope you will check back for my mid-book discussion and then a final discussion after the end of the book, toward the end of the month.
Thanks for bearing with me!
Here we go with The Wolf Gift! I’m excited! Fall always makes me want to read scary themed books.
This book isn’t too long so it should be pretty manageable. I’m going to split it up in two parts. So…
- Start reading on September 1
- Read Chapters 1 – 21 (pp. 1 – 203)
- Come back here on September 15 to discuss the first half
- On September 16, start reading Chapters 22 – 40 (pp. 204 – 404/the end)
- Come back here on September 30 to discuss the second half/the book as a whole
I hope you will be joining me. If you are, I hope you’re looking as forward to it as I am. 🙂
In order to increase group interaction (and participation) within this reading challenge, as well as the three other perpetual challenges I host, I’ve decided to host this MEGA read-a-long event. For The Never-Ending Anne Rice Challenge part of the read-a-long, which is coming in September, I chose The Wolf Gift. Feel free to join in on the other read-a-longs. You do not have to sign up for the other reading challenges to join in on the read-a-longs.
The hub for the entire event will be at my The True Book Addict blog but the individual read-a-longs will be hosted at their respective blogs (I will list those below). The Wolf Gift read-a-long will be hosted here at The Never-Ending Anne Rice Challenge blog. Look for a page in the menu at The True Book Addict which serves as this MEGA read-a-long’s hub.
So, here is the schedule of read-a-longs and their respective blog urls:
June 2015: A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray – hosted at The Fantasy Project blog (read-a-long schedule is posted there) and in Goodreads group.
I said when I first started this challenge that I may be hosting a read-a-long in the near future. Well, I finally made a decision to host a read-a-long of The Vampire Armand in October and November. I’m hosting the read-a-long over at my horror blog, Castle Macabre during my October event, Season of the Witch. I hope you will join me!
Visit Castle Macabre to sign up
You can read more about why I started this challenge on the welcome page, but basically I decided to host it because I want to challenge myself to read more of my favorite author. I have been neglectful of reading her books of late and I’m WAY behind on her Vampire Chronicles. With a new Lestat book coming out soon, my being behind simply must be remedied.
This is really a long term challenge where we read or reread Anne Rice’s works.. so no real deadlines. You can set your own personal deadline or goal. For instance, I’m thinking about challenging myself to read three of her books yearly, or I might change that. Something to consider. Your goals can always change. To help things along, we may have some read-a-longs here and there. Anything goes with this challenge.
If you’d like to join me on this journey through the fantastic works of Anne Rice, please sign up in the linky below. Be sure to link to your goals list, not just your blog.
You can grab the button in the side bar with the handy grab code.
